Kings County Register Aaron L. Jacoby was the principal speaker at the rally of the Women’s Division of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities held yesterday afternoon at the First Hebrew Day Nursery, 174 Leonard street. His talk outlined the important part mothers have played during the last few crucial years in maintaining peace of mind and a sense of humor.
“Woman,” said Mr. Jacoby, “has taken her place in every field of activity, but she enjoys her greatest prestige in the role of mother. And all the more honor is hers when she looks after the welfare of unfortunate children who are not her own.”
Mrs. Bernard Bloch, district chairman, presided over the rally, assisted by Mrs. R. Teichman. This was the first of a series of six to prepare for a borough-wide Federation roll call to aid the $500,000 twenty-fifth anniversary campaign of the Brooklyn Federation.
