Jacques Chirac said Ariel Sharon is not welcome in France. In a letter to the Israeli prime minister on Monday, the French president said that “after a number of weeks of contacts concerning your visit, it appears that it is impossible and you will not be welcome following your statements.” On Sunday, Sharon called on French Jews to leave France “immediately” as a result of rising anti-Semitism.
