Jacques Stern, a former Minister in several French Cabinets who was a member of the Chamber of Deputies for 22 years, committed suicide today. M. Stern, 67, who had been living in the U.S. for eight years, jumped to his death from his ninth-floor apartment here.
Bonn in Paris he graduated from the Sorbonne in 1902 and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1914. He served in the French Army during World War I. From 1928-1935 he was Undersecretary of the French Navy and served as Minister For Colonies the next year.
