Miss Janina Gallot, a student at the Warsaw University, was sentenced today to two months’ imprisonment for distributing leaflets last Summer asserting that a Jew assassinated the Polish Minister of Interior Pieracki.
Representatives of the German Nazi press arrived today at Kattowice to report the trial of Edward Chavansky, editor of a Polish Nazi newspaper, who has appealed a sentence of nine months’ imprisonment for slanderous anti-Jewish attacks in connection with the Talmud.
Chavansky’s appeal was scheduled to be heard by the Court of Appeals today. The hearing, however, was postponed to April 25. Meanwhile the Nazi paper has been suppressed by the Polish authorities.
