James P. Rice, veteran social service administrator, was named today executive director of the United Hias Service. He has been holding the post of acting executive director of the organization since last February.
As chief administrator of United Hias. Mr. Rice will supervise the organizations programs in some 40 countries throughout the world, including the agency’s current emergency projects of emigrating Hungarian refugees, and other Jews leaving Egypt and North Africa.
