Madam Agiman, president of the Committee on Jewish Schools at Galata, was awarded the Jane Elkus prize for her social work during the past year.
The Jane Elkus prize was instituted in 1916, in memory of the daughter of the Hon. Abram I. Elkus, then United States Ambassador to Turkey. The prize was intended to distinguish the most estimable person in Turkey.
Madam Agiman distributed the prize of fifty Turkish pounds among charitable institutions.
