January 1, 1950 has been proclaimed the “Day of Disaster” in Israel by the Ministry of Religion. On that day the ashes, brought here six months ago, of some 200,000 Jews murdered by the Nazis will be reburied in Jerusalem. A day of fasting will be observed throughout the country and special services will be held in all synagogues in memory of the Nazi victims.
