Only five years ago Japan held thirty-fourth position on the Palestine market. In 1933 Japan advanced to tenth place. Japanese officials are convinced that in 1936 they will export to Palestine as much goods as England, since there are no trade barriers set in Palestine against the import of cheaply produced Japanese products.
Preparations are being made here by a number of Japanese firms to participate in the Levant Fair, which will open in Tel Aviv, Palestine, in the Spring of 1936. Many Japanese firms are certain that Palestine can be developed into a central marketing place for Japanese articles for the entire Near East.
