The extradition order handed down here today against an accused Jordanian terrorist to face trial in Israel, was hailed by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith for supporting the principle that “terrorism should not be condoned by granting terrorists refuge here.”
The Jordanian, Yiyad Abu-Eain, is charged with responsibility for a bomb blast in the Tiberias marketplace last May 14 which killed two persons and injured 36. Debra Nesselson, the ADL’s Midwest counsel, praised Federal Magistrate Olga Jurco’s ruling in the case which she said “has reaffirmed this country’s efforts in the fight against world terrorism.”
Eain, who entered the U.S. last June 15 on a temporary visa was arrested Aug. 20 on a request for extradition from the Israeli authorities. He fought the extradition order on grounds that his arrest was politically motivated.
