The Joint Distribution Committee has made a special one-time grant of $50,000 for the establishment of vocational training and work projects on Cyprus for the visaless Jews detained there, it was announced today. The sum will be matched by the Jewish Agency, which cooperates with the JDC in assistance programs on Cyprus.
Monthly JDC appropriations of $10,000 will be made to operate the project. new grant brings the JDC appropriations for the nearly 20,000 Jews on Cyprus a rats of more than $1,000,000 a year, it was disclosed by Moses Leavitt, ## vice-chairman.
