A credit bank for Jewish refugees from Germany now stranded in France will be opened in Paris by the American Joint Reconstruction Foundation, it was announced here today. The purpose of the bank is to assist Jewish refugees in establishing themselves as small traders or artisans.
The American Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Colonization Association are equally represented in the foundation sponsoring the bank.
The announcement that such a bank is to be established has stirre new hopes among the hundreds of Jewish refugees from Germany who are now suffering unemployment and starvation in various parts of France. The project is highly praised by all French Jewish leaders.
