Miss Rebecca E. Kapelsohn, National Council of Jewish Women welfare worker, attached to the European staff of the Joint Distribution Committee, died as the result of an accident last night at Darmstadt, Germany, where she was engaged in work in behalf of displaced Jews, it was reported today in a cable received from the European headquarters of the Joint Distribution Committee. She was 26 years of age.
Miss Kapelsohn, a native of Brooklyn, had recently been assigned to duty at Darmstadt. She served in Germany for more than a year, having previously been stationed at the displaced persons camps at Cham and Bamberg for the JDC. She joined the professional staff of the National Council of Jewish Women in October, 1945.
