A total of $50,000 was raised last night for Boys Town, Jerusalem, a vocational training school for Israeli immigrant youth, at a dinner here in honor of Jacob Wellner, president of the Brooklyn Painters Joint Executive Council, AFL-CIO, it was announced today by Ira Guilden, president of the American Committee for Boys Town.
The school is now building a central campus in Jerusalem to house all its scattered facilities which serve some 500 students. A wing to be built at a cost of $100,000, will be named for Mr. Wellner in tribute to his efforts and those of the union on behalf of the school, Mr. Guilden said.
