“The National Catholic Welfare Council News Sheet” of December 9th contains a letter from its Jerusalem correspondent, Dr. Alexander Mombelli, who reports that the Arab Christians of Palestine have protested against the foreign Consuls in Jerusalem who, not wishing to appear as supporters of the Arab protest against the Balfour Declaration on November 2nd, did not put mourning flags above their consulates on All Souls Day. This year, as usual, the practice was carried out by the majority of the religious congregations and Catholic establishments, including the Apostolic Delegation, the Latin Patriarchate and the Franciscan Custody of Holy Places.
