“Henry Ford is a remarkable man and is deeply interested in the Palestinian question”, Ronald Storrs, Governor of Jerusalem said yesterday as he boarded the Cunarder Berengaria to return to Palestine.
Storrs, who had been in the U.S. nearly a month visited Ford at Detroit. While here Storrs refused to be quoted on Zionism. “I find everywhere in America great interest and kind feeling for the problems of reconstruction”, he said. “Leaving I can only say that all American visitors who come to the Holy Land will receive a most hearty welcome. The City of Jerusalem is 2,500 feet above sea level and is much cooler than Cairo, so that tourists can visit Palestine after they have finished their trip up the Nile. April and May are delightful months to spend in Palestine.”
