The Municipal Council here last night decided to write to Jascha Heifetz, world renowned violinist, apologizing for the “rude attack” on him in the city last week. The attack, in which Mr. Heifetz’ hand was injured, was made by an unidentified extremist who disliked Mr. Heifetz’ playing the music of Richard Strauss at several of his recent Israel concerts. Strauss headed the German Chamber of Music under the Nazi regime.
