Police today searched the home here of Moshe Itzhak Cohen, one of the two assassins who murdered Lord Moyne in Cairo on Monday. Other residents of the house said that they had not seen Cohen for several months. A photograph of him which arrived here today from Cairo was identified by several Jerusalem policemen who have had dealings with him in the past.
The Hebrew press carries editorials unanimously condemning the murderers. The terrorists are immoral and harmful to the Zionist cause and must be cast out from the community, the papers say. The influential Labor daily Davar writes: “We must wage merciless combat against those pushing the Yishuv and Zionism towards an abyss without consideration of whether their motives are right or wrong, patriotic or otherwise.”
