Following the naming of the streets of Jerusalem, the houses of the city are now to be numbered. This will remove a source of vexation to persons who, unversed in the topography of the Holy City, have hither to had difficulty in finding their way about.
Preparations are being made for the establishment of a new Jerusalem suburb to be known as Sanhedria. The site chosen is that of the famous caves of the Sanhedrin between the Mount of Olives Road and the Bokharan quarter, in the vicinity of the new City Park and the government agricultural nursery. The suburb is intended for middle-class residents. The company which is floating the scheme has been founded by the Young Mizrachi Organization of Jerusalem.
Land has also been acquired for the building of a new suburb in the vicinity of the Shaarei Chesed residential quarter. The building will take place on an area of 130 dunams, the plans being drafted in accordance with the Greater Jerusalem development scheme. Orthodox Jews are mostly interested in this new suburb.
At the same time, title deeds have been issued to the Central Committee of Knesseth Israel to 67 dunams of land behind the Rehavia quarter in Jerusalem for the building of a suburb for the members of the Committee.
