The City Council of Jerusalem has decided to name one of the city’s streets in honor of the late Harry Fischel, prominent New York philanthropist, it was learned here today. Mr. Fischel was one of the founders of the Yeshiva University, Beth Israel Hospital, HIAS, Hebrew Free Loan Society, Joint Distribution Committee and other organizations in the United States. In Israel, he endowed the Harry Fischel Institute for Higher Jewish Studies.
