Jerusalem’s Latin Patriarch expressed pessimism about Middle East peace efforts and called on Christians, Jews and Muslims to pray for reconciliation during this holiday season. Addressing reporters in a pre-Easter message, Michel Sabbah, who is Palestinian, blamed Israel for the deadlock in the peace process. He said that only the establishment of a Palestinian state would resolve the conflict in the region.
