Jerzy Ficowski, a Polish poet, translator and essayist renowned for works that dealt with Holocaust themes, died at age 82. Ficowski, who died Tuesday in Warsaw, was not Jewish, but he wrote powerful poems about the Holocaust and the impact that the murder of Polish Jews had on Poland.
