Jesse I. Straus of New York City has been elected a member of the Board of Overseers of Harvard University for a six year term.
A gift of $156,000 from Lucius N. Littauer for the establishment of the Nathan Littauer Professorship of Jewish Literature and Philosophy at Harvard University has been announced. Among other recent gifts to Harvard University are $10,000 from Julius Rosenwald of Chicago for a publication fund in the law school; $750 from Louis Bamberger of Newark for the binding and cataloguing of the Yiddish collection in Widener Library; and gifts of books and money from Herbert Lehman, Paul Warburg, and Prof. Paul Sachs.
