Dr. Nurok, member of the Latvian parliament and a leader of the democratic bloc of the national minorities, was asked by the President of the Latvian Republic, Tschakste, to form a new cabinet. This is the first time in the history of the Baltic states that a leader of the minorities is intrusted with forming a cabinet. Dr. Nurok is a member of the Zionist Actions Committee.
