Frederik Weinreb, 36-year-old Dutch Jew charged with swindling Jews whom he helped to flee Nazi-occupied Holland and betraying others ## the Gestapo, was today sentenced to three-and-a-half years imprisonment and de##rivation of all civil rights for life. The court ordered that the sentence be commuted from the time Weinreb was arrested two years ago, which means that he still ##as year-and-a-half to serve.It is expected that an appeal will be taken, since Weinreb’s friends and sup##orters, who include several members of Parliament, have charged that he was being ##ailroaded to cover up the collaborationist activities of certain Dutch officials. influential sections of the press have also taken up the cudgels in his behalf.
