Azur Zalta, one of two Syrian Jews accused by Syrian authorities of the murders of four Jewish women, was the brother-in-law of one of the victims, Eva Saad, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned from sources here today. Their relationship is further evidence that Zalta is being held on charges trumped up by the Syrians to cover their own complicity in the murders, the sources said. The four victims were all dressmakers in Damascus. Eva Saad’s parents, two sisters and a brother live in Damascus as do Abraham and Polin Zeybak, parents of the three murdered sisters. They have four other children, two boys and two girls. The father is a vendor of used clothes.
