More than 300 Hebrew schools and Talmud Torahs will participate in the observance of Hebrew Weeks, starting April 22, it was announced yesterday by the Histadruth Ivrith. Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America, has called upon all Zionist districts throughout the country to assist Hebrew Week and the Hebrew movement in general in every possible way.
Devoted to stressing the value of Hebrew Instruction, the celebration, which takes place during the festival week of Lag B’Omer, will conclude April 29 with a drive for the fund with which the various activities of the Histadruth Ivrith are supported. Included in these activities are publication, of the Hadoar, only Hebrew weekly published in the United States; maintenance of the Ogen, a Hebrew publishing organization, and issue of the American Hebrew Yearbook.
The drive for Hebrew Week is being conducted by a united committee, comprising the following prominent Hebraists: Dr. Solomon Goldman, A. Goldberg, Dr. S. Bernstein, A. Spicehandler; M. Ribalow, K. Whiteman, D. R. Zaslavsky, Ch. Grant, M. Sinai; E. Cohen, L. Karni, P. Soller, J. Kleinman and I. Wall, secretary.
