Dr. Hanus Rezek, secretary-general and Deputy Chief Rabbi of the Prague Jewish Community, was informed today by the Jewish Action Committee that it was not desirable for him to retain his present posts. Instead, the Action Committee offered him a rabbinical position in the city of Brno. Dr. Rezek promptly rejected this offer, asserting that he was chosen Deputy Chief Rabbi of Prague.
During the war, Dr. Rezek served as chaplain in the Czechoslovak Army in exile. He was instrumental in organizing Jewish religious institutions in all parts of the country and also helped to set up the Jewish veterans organization in Czechoslovakia. He has held important positions in the Zionist Organization here and to other Jewish organizations.
