Formation of new divisions and reorganization of other groups in the Trade and Membership Council, fund-raising force of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, are proceeding steadily and the total number now exceeds ninety actively at work in the Federation’s $500,000 twenty-fifth anniversary campaign, it was announced last night by County Judge Algeron I. Nova.
The announcement by Judge Nova gave names of the officers of the trades and professions groups newly formed or in which there has been a reorganization not previously made known and which are especially active in soliciting funds on behalf of the twenty-five affiliated societies which will benefit by the campaign.
Samuel Salzman, chairman of the Council, expressed his satisfaction at the achievements thus far on the part of Council workers.
Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May, president of the Federation, declared that “it is extremely doubtful if the Federation could have continued to function without the invaluable aid given by teh Trade and Membership Council.”
Among divisions of the Council recently formed or reorganized are the Dairy Products division, Bernet Gabriel, honorary chairman, and Louis Dilbert, chairman; the Paper and Paper Box group, Herry Eckstein, associate chairman, and the Dental Division, Dr. Mendel Nevin, chairman, and Dr. Matthew D. Levin, co-chairman.
