In an address before a meeting of the Menorah and Avukah Societies at City College yesterday afternoon, Dr. Mordecai Soltes, of the Bureau of Jewish Education and the Jewish Welfare Board, deplored the fact that Jewish youth is ignorant of Jewish history and literature.
Dr. Soltes cited examples to prove that approximately ninety-five percent of Jewish youth do not know their own history as well as they know the history of other nations. “The only manner we can assure the continuation of Jewish life is through Jewish education,” he said.
