Turning their attention for the time being from Macy’s Department Store, whose boycott policy of German goods has incited two great demonstrations, Socialist Party followers on Saturday afternoon picketed one of the F. W. Woolworth Department Stores on Second avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets.
At Socialist Party headquarters, 7 East 15th street, it was announced that on Saturday, March 31, the party, together with other, organizations would picket every F. W. Woolworth department store in Brooklyn and possibly in other boroughs.
Approximately 200 joined the boycott parade before the five-and-ten store on Saturday. A number of large and small banners carried by marchers proclaimed Woolworth’s failure to abide by the boycott of Nazi goods. The Woolworth concern, partly owned by Jewish stockholders, was charged with contributing to the Hitler reign of terror in Germany. David Kaplan, Socialist Assembly candidate of the Eighth District, led the march.
