An allocation of 2,000,000 pounds ($666,000) was made today by the Jewish Agency’s agricultural settlement department to set up five new waterworks in various parts of Israel. The slated areas include Adulam and Lachish. The water will come from the National Water Carrier project which is being gradually accelerated.
The Jewish Agency also announced today that a total of 176 students are currently studying at various institutions in Israel under the sponsorship of its Youth and Hechalutz Department. At the beginning of the academic year, 110 of the students were studying at the Hebrew University, 43 at the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and 23 in other institutions.
