The American Section of the Jewish Agency authorized preparations for the transfer to Israel of the remains of Naftali Imber, author of the Hatikvah, Israel’s national hymn, who died in the United States in 1909. Morris Margulies and Julius Haber, active American Zionists who were personal friends of the late poet, have been chosen to supervise the arrangements for the transfer.
