The Jewish Agency for Palestine has asked the British Government for permission to arm “a few hundred” Jewish youths in Palestine as a more effective method of halting Jewish terrorism there than leaving it to the British police, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, member of the agency’s executive committee, reported here at a press conference. Dr. Goldmann returned recently from a visit in Palestine.
Dr. Goldmann said he was hopeful of a change in Great Britain’s policy in Palestine and had confidence in Prime Minister Churchill, whom he called “a devoted and sincere friend of Zionism.”
