More than 300 Jewish leaders are expected here tomorrow for the opening of the Jewish Agency Assembly. The opening ceremony will be attended by President Ephraim Katzir and Cabinet Ministers.
It will be the fourth Assembly since the Jewish Agency was expanded in 1971. The delegates are member of the Zionist general council and heads of fund-raising organizations abroad. The Assembly will also be attended by 100 community and organization leaders who will have the status of observers. Jewish Agency chairman Pinhas Sapir will deliver the keynote speech at the opening session. He is expected to review Jewish Agency activities during the past year, and to outline programs for the coming year. Agency treasurer Arye Dulzin will present a budget of $540 million, based on the assumption that some 45,000 immigrants will come to Israel during this fiscal year.
