Portfolios were assigned today to the various members of the executive of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, official representative of the Jewish population in dealings with the Government.
David Ben-Gurion, veteran labor leader, was named chairman of the executive body and will share the political portfolio with Moshe Shertok, present head of the political department. Other assignments are: Eliezar Kaplan, treasurer; Isaac Gruenbaum, labor department, Dr. Werner Senator, immigration department, with the Messrs. Dobkin and Shapiro as his assistants; F. Rottenstriech and Rabbi J. Fishman, industry; Ben-Gurion and Gruenbaum, organization. Assignments to Arthur Ruppin and Maurice Hexter await their return from a trip abroad.
