The Jewish Agency executive today issued a scathing denunciation of the conduct of the Cairo “spy” trial and the execution of two Jews yesterday.
The Agency statement declared that the trial was “marked by devilish torture of the accused which resulted in a murderous judgment and tyrannical sentences,” and stressed that the executions were carried out in the face of worldwide protests. “The Egyptian effort to sever, by violence the living bond between Jewry and Zion has failed ignominiously,” the statement insisted.
