Declaring that “Jewish honor and the rescue of Palestine” necessities the most urgent action, the Jewish Agency for Palestine today issued a proclamation calling upon able-bodied Jewish men and women in Palestine to join the British forces “to defend our country and the Middle East.”

The Agency’s proclamation stated that “masses of volunteers are needed for Jewish units within the British forces.” It also urged “thousands of women to join the Palestine Womanise, Auxiliary Territorial Corps.” It particularly appealed to childless married persons, between the ages of twenty and thirty to, enlist, and requested that those in other categories join immediately without waiting their turn.
