The Jewish Agency executive today protested to the military authorities against the beating by British soldiers and temporary detention of Rabbi J.L. Fishman, member of the Executive and leader of the Mizrachi Organization.
Rabbi Fishman told the J.T.A. that he was driving from his home in the Romema quarter to the Jewish Agency building when he was halted by troops who demanded to see his travel pass. He explained that the pass was not necessary within city limits, whereupon he was taken from his automobile, beaten, forced aboard a military truck and driven to the military officer, who released him refusing to entertain a complaint.
Meanwhile, a group of members of the Brith Trumpeldor, Zionist Revisionist youth organization, who were arrested at Rishon-le-Zion on Friday and taken to military headquarters at Sarafend, were today interned in the Acre concentration camp for six months in connection with recent anti-Arab terrorism.
