David Ben-Gurion, chairman of the executive of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, today left by plane for Bulgaria and Rumania to study the situation of the Jews there and to intensify Zionist activities in those countries.
This is the first time since the outbreak of the war that a leader of the Jewish Agency will visit the Balkan countries. During his stay in Rumania, Ben-Gurion will make an attempt to settle the differences that have arisen between Dr. William Filderman, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities, and Dr. A. Zissu, president of the Zionist Organization of Rumania, over the question of selecting Rumanian Jews for emigration to Palestine.
It was indicated here today that after returning from his visit to the Balkan countries. Ben-Gurion will proceed to London and from there to the United States. It was also stated that Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency, who is now on a visit here, will probably go to the United States in January to discuss plans connected with the economic development of Palestine.
