STATE DEPARTMENT CHARGED WITH CONSPIRING TO PREVENT PARTITION
Investigation by President Truman of State Department complicity in a British plot to destroy any possibility of implementing the U.N. partition plan, turn the country into an Arab state with a substantial British basis, and relegate the Jews to a ghetto was demanded today by Freda Kirchwey, editor of the Nation and president of Nation Associates.
Under the plan, King Abdullah of Transjordan, with the consent of the states comprising the Arab League, would overrun and take possession of Palestine, Jews would be herded into a ghetto in a restricted area with limited autonomy and the British would take over the Negev area, and the ports of Haifa and Aqaba.
