Well over one-third of the 144,000 refugees resettled from Austria to other countries during the two-and-a-half years of the operation of the International Refugee Organization up to Dec. 31, 1949 were accepted by Israel, it was announced here today.
During that period Israel, which accepted more refugees from Austria than any other country, admitted 59,530. During the year of 1949 the Jewish state admitted 10,535 displaced persons from here.
