Jacob Riftin, an official in the immigration department of the Jewish Agency, was today kidnapped by five armed men believed to be members of the Irgun Zvai Leumi.
After transporting him to the Yarkon River, north of the city, the five men decided they had made a “mistake” and released him. The car in which he had been kidnapped was later found near Tiberias.
