Satisfaction with the result of the discussions here on the Israel Government’s granting a special status to the Jewish Agency was expressed today by Maurice Boukstein, legal advisor of the Jewish Agency in New York, prior to his leaving the country.
Mr. Boukstein said that a special committee appointed by the Israel Cabinet is co-operating with a committee named by the Jewish Agency on the drafting of a law on the Agency status which will be submitted to Parliament. The agreement will provide that the World Zionist Organization should represent the Jewish nation in Israel in connection with the special tasks performed by the Agency, he declared.
Mr. Boukstein is proceeding from here to Germany where he will deal with problems connected with the return of heirless property in which the Jewish Agency is interested as a major beneficiary of the Jewish Restitution Successor Organization.
