A plenary session of the Jewish Agency executive opened here today with S. Z. Shragai, head of the immigration department, reporting that 5,200 immigrants had arrived in Israel between April and July.
Mr. Shragai noted that there was considerable immigration potential in the United States and Britain and asserted that the entire problem of Eastern European immigration was mainly a budgetary matter. He called for more funds for immigration.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the Agency, outlined steps for the expansion of immigration from North Africa.
