The Jewish Agency and other institutions are preparing a plan for the transfer of 10,000 families from towns and cities to agriculture in the current year, Levi Eshkol, Finance Minister, reported today at “Towns to Villages” conference held here.
Mr. Eshkol said this plan was part of a larger one to divert 50,000 families to Israeli villages in the next four years. He said 5,000 families would this year be resettled in kibbutzim and the remainder would go into smallholders villages and settlements.
