The Jewish Agency was honored this week-end for its unique “ship-to-settlement” program for immigrants in Israel. The Social Service Division of the United Jewish Appeal presented the Agency with its second annual award for Outstanding Social Service Achievement. Henry A. McCarthy, New York City Commissioner of Welfare, presented an illuminated scroll emblematic of the award to Mrs. Rose Halprin, acting head of the Jewish Agency.
