Jewish Agency Representative Arrives in Rumania to Study Local Situation

For the first time since 1941 a representative of the Jewish Agency has arrived in Rumania to study the situation of Rumanian Jewry. He is Hain Barlas of the Agency’s Jerusalem office.

Three American ships, the Yeager, Newberry Victory and Oxford, have arrived in Constanza laden with Joint Distribution Committee supplies. The cargo includes ##,000 pounds of footwear, 1,000 cases of clothing, 800,000 pounds of foodstuffs and larges quantities of medical and hospital equipment. Some of the supplies will be distribution to non-Jews in Rumania.
