Dr. Walter Eytan, a Jewish Agency spokesman, said today that the statement in New York by Judge Joseph Proskauer, president of the American Jewish Committee, calling on U.S. Jews to back the Agency in its negotiations with the British was “a considerable factor in establishing unity and strengthening the Jewish position.”
Commenting on Gen. McNarney’s statement yesterday, that fleeing Polish Jews would continue to be admitted to the U.S. zone in Germany, Dr. Eytan said that the Jews of the world greatly appreciate the efforts of the American military authorities to aid fleeing Jews, most of whom wish to come to Palestine.
