Levi Eshkol, Jewish Agency treasurer, left today for the United States to confer with Agency officials in New York on the purchase of agricultural machinery for Israel. He also intends to discuss the buying in the U.S. of tens of thousands of lengths of pipes for settlement and irrigation projects in Israel in 1950, when it is expected that some 17,000 immigrant families will be settled in the Negev area alone.
