A “Jewish Agricultural Sabbath” designed to stimulate interest in farming among Jews in the United States, will be observed tomorrow by many Jewish communities throughout the country. The “Sabbath” has been proclaimed by the Synagogue Council of America in cooperation with the Jewish Agricultural Society.

The Jewish Agricultural Society today reported that never in its history have as many Jewish families been settled on land and as many agricultural loans been made as during the last year. The Society was formed 50 years ago through foundations set up by the philanthropist Baron Maurice de Hirsch.
